Abstract

We demonstrate the perspective of extending the functional abilities of the gravitational constant calculation methodologies for a simple shape of the interacting bodies. We consider the special case where spherical attracting masses interaction with the working body of the balance, fabricated in the form of a rectangular plate. The results obtained in the calculations of the attraction torques and the gravitational constant G, are substantially different from those presented by Luo et al. in Phys. Rev. Lett. 102, 240801 (2009). The accessively large value of G that follows from our calculations can be explained by the existence of the paramagnetic effect.
