New master of science specialization at Peoples' Friendship University of Russia

Institute of Gravitation and Cosmology at Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (Moscow) opens a new M. Sc. Programme "Gravitation, cosmology and relativistic astrophysics" aimed at getting M. Sc. Degree (2 years) and Ph. D. Degree (3 years more) in physics.

The programme includes standard courses in theoretical physics and astronomy as well as special courses in gravity, quantum field and particle theory. Dissertations involve multidimensional gravity, quantum cosmology, black hole and space physics etc.

On application for foreign students

Foreign students applying Master of Science Degree must have a complete secondary education and Bachelor of Science Certificates, present the documents as follows: Entrance applications are accepted till 15 August each year. Applicants approved by the University Entrance Board will receive an entry visa in the Russian Embassy and should arrive at the University from 15 August to 15 September. The academic year starts on 1 September and includes two semesters. Winter vacations are from 25 January to 6 February, summer vacations are from 4 July to 31 August. Admission examinations are taken for the first two decades of September. University graduates are awarded a Master of Science Degree and get the relevant State Diploma.

The University provides students with medical care services for $150 per year, free library service, sports and leisure facilities. Hostel accommodation is for $300 to $1800 (depending on comfort categories) per year. Entrance registration is for $75. Tuition fee is $2000 per year. Candidates enrolled at the University can be admitted to the Preliminary Faculty for one year to study Russian language and physics.
